Aircraft Component Repair Frequently Asked Questions

Lisa asks…
Can I patent a business idea that will actually prevent others from copying me?
I have this idea but instead of disclosing my idea, I want to use an example such as Party Supply Rentals. In other words renting out chairs, tables, canopies, stages, etc. for parties/events. Can something like this be patented and protected from others who will steal the idea, lets say back when nobody else was doing this at the time as a business?
admin answers:
Yes you can…
Take a look at this example business method in the rental segment..
Http://www.google.com/patents?id=gwSWAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA14&dq=business+method+renting&hl=en&ei=tTjQTtDMIIiYiALEgdWNDA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2&sqi=2&ved=0CDQQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=business%20method%20renting&f=false
There are others like it.. Serach in the search box for terms SIMILAR to yours to make sure your method is not already patented… If it is it may be then perhaps you have an IMPROVEMENT…
Do you know about the Provisional Patent Application? It only costs $125 and was designed by Congress to give individual inventors a chance at bringing their inventive ideas to market easily. It is SUPER EASY to do..
To see the top 10 reasons to file a Provisional Patent Application please watch the second video in this blog.

If a provisional patent application looks like the right thing for you to do then take a look at another website that shows EXACTLY how to file one using a video format.

If you need to know how to get your product sold on TV or to Costco, or Home Depot, or Target and the like then you might also enjoy reading this information by the Ginsu Knife guy! It is pretty cool. He gives you all his contacts and personal email!

Of course you could ALSO just go to the US Patent Office and figure out how to file a patent yourself. Here is the link..

The flow chart there is pretty nice to give you an idea how to do what you want to do!
Their patent search is hard to use and you need special programs to look at the patents… Instead, consider using Google Patent Search!
Here is how you can use Google Patent Search to search for an “Oscillating inertial microbalance”
http://www.google.com/patents?id=M5GRAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA6&dq=Oscillating+inertial+microbalance&hl=en&ei=vrbGTvGeDoXhiAKWpfXxDw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CDAQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false
Just type the term you want to search for in the search box. Play with MANY variants of your inventive idea.
Also, for a more global patent search look here:

Remember… Patents are MOSTLY “Improvements” on other inventions.. So, while you may see something SIMILAR to your inventive idea it does not mean that you cannot patent your IMPROVEMENT.. Example… A tire is an IMPROVEMENT on a wagon wheel. A radial biased ply tire is an IMPROVEMENT on a non radial biased tire. There are over 10,000 patents on tires… Nearly every single one is an improvement!
And… a special gift for you is a sample Non Disclosure (also called an NDA) that you would have folks sign when you show them your inventive idea. You can change it up and use others but if you have NOTHING now it is a very good start written by my lawyer who charged me a TON for it!

Paul asks…
Where can I buy snowflakes like those in the Lord and Taylor window displays?
I want to hang some snowflakes from the ceiling in my home. I really the snowflakes in the window displays of the 5th Ave Lord and Taylor in NYC. Where can I buy some just like these? They look much nicer than the ones available in party supplies stores.
admin answers:
You can’t. Those windows are designed and fabricated by companies, explicitly for the store. Just enough were made to fit the scheme. They’re not available commercially.
Make your own?

Jenny asks…
what are some popular drinking games besides beer pong and what supplies do they require?
my boyfriend’s bday is coming up and i wanted to get him some party supplies. i was thinking ping pong balls and red solo cups, but what other drinking games are popular and what kinda cups, etc. do they require?
WTF cupcake…he’s of age. and we don’t drink until we pass out thanks.
admin answers:
FLIP CUP! Requires an even amount of people, some skill/coordination, and drinking fast! Its nice and quick too, which makes nice for a good game to get everyone involved in between beer pong games, or whatever…
Oh, and all you need are the same cups you use for beer pong.. So no extra money required!

Carol asks…
where should i have mi party? mi b-day is in less than 4 days and i wanna have a htl party but what if i cant?
if i cant have a hotel party what should i do? for a plan b i would love to have it at mi house but we just moved in and everything isnt in place yet. help me. i have less than 4 days to figure this out. and i need all the help i can get. i have mi guest list ready and party supplies but no party! HELP ME PLEASE!
admin answers:
I really don’t know what kind of party you can have in just 4 days. Your invitations should have gone out 2 weeks ago. You aren’t going to be able to rent anywhere with such a short notice. Have your close friends over to your house for cake and ice cream and then all of you go to the latest movie. You must start planning earlier next year.

Mandy asks…
Who supplies the money to build an airport?
Where does the funding come from? Are they government owned and operated or do airlines, corporations or other interested parties supply the money? Who is responsible for running them after they are built?
admin answers:
Usually someone funds the operation, like a big name in the area and then the Government gives money through tax breaks and allowance. The airline companies then pay for a spot in the airport. All the businesses inside of the airport do as well. I am not positive on this… Just what I have heard.
