Aircraft Component Repair Frequently Asked Questions

Maria asks…
Can you handle the truth about rising gas prices?
The corporatists in Congress barked at Obama that he must approve that Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to the Gulf Coast. Because the Exxons and Chevrons need a way to get all that Canadian tar sands oil to their Texas refineries. That’ll increase the supply of gasoline and lower the price at the pump. It’s Economics 101, Bucko.
Really? Well, consider this complicating fact: rather than shipping an abundance of gasoline to our gas stations, Big Oil has quietly been siphoning oceans of fuel from their U.S. refineries and shipping it to Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Last year, for the first time ever, fuel became the top export of the United States – the big refineries shipped 117 million gallons of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel per day out of our country. Suddenly, fuel exports are bigger in dollar value than the foreign sales of American aircraft, agriculture, or any other product.
Commuters, truckers, farmers, airlines, and others who’re dependent on those fuels have been soaked in the past year by gasoline pump prices that have averaged $3.52 a gallon – a record high. This price shock has given Big Oil’s political puppets an excuse to yap ceaselessly about the urgent need to “build that pipeline.” The environment be damned, is their cry, full speed ahead to increase supply.
These ranters don’t mention (shhhh) the giant refiners’ control and manipulation of our gasoline supply for their own fun and profit. While the refiners refuse to reveal how much they profit from exporting fuel, the more they send overseas, the less there is at home, allowing them to jack up our prices. No surprise then that the Big Five gasoline makers enjoyed record profits in 2011.
Rather than ripping apart our environment to serve these finaglers, America urgently needs a full conversion to alternative fuels.

It doesn’t matter. The Republicans will ruin everything anyway.

Michael asks…
Why was it ok for Reagan to trade missiles to terrorists for hostages, but not ok for Clinton to trade?
photo ops for the release of the journalists in North Korea?
Iran-Contra (for those who have forgotten) involved the arms sale of Hawk anti-aircraft missiles and TOW anti-tank missiles to Iranians who through their proxy organization, Hezbollah (terrorists) were holding 6 Americans hostage.
Apparently many of the responders were either too young or have forgotten Iran-Contra. Admittedly, I was only 14 when it happened.
However, it only took me 3 seconds to Google “Iran Contra” for a link and refresh my memmory.
I suggest you deniers do the same and (re)inform yourself.
admin answers:
It is absolutely appalling how not one single conservative will address this simple question.
They hate Clinton for freeing hostages with pure diplomacy, but they love Reagan for giving Iran weapons and then using that to fund the overthrow of a democratically elected government in Nicaragua. Not only that, but Regan, Bush Sr. And Oliver North seriously and in no small measure committed high treason against the US government and betrayed the constitution. People forget that congress and the senate both refused to authorize the sale of weapons to Iran, and also the funding of the coup in Nicaragua. Regan actually BROKE THE LAW when he authorized this. Luckily Oliver North had Piper Fawn destroy all documents tracing it to Regan and Bush Sr. Oliver North took the fall, then was forgiven by Regan and then he went to FOX News..
Yet Regan is a hero, and Clinton is a villain.. Nice
Republican Logic = Total Hypocrisy

It’s poorly written, unprofessional and asks for too much information on the spot. All businesses know that asking so many questions via email would get a very poor response rate. There’s absolutely 0% chance that this is legitimate. Delete it or reply and tell them to F*** off.
This is another identity theft scheme, but I’ve definitely seen better written ones. Whoever this guy is needs to take an introductory seminar in professional business writing.
Smart of you to post it

Mark asks…
Has anyone else noticed how expensive alcohol is becoming aboard aircraft.?
I recently flew with First Choice holidays and was charged £7.50 for two 5 cntl. bottles of brandy, and £1.60 for a 500ml. bottle of water. When Dick Turpin was robbing people, he did at least have the good grace to wear a mask. I think the answer is for people to simply refuse to buy drinks on board, the average flight time from the UK to most Med. sun destinations is between 3 to 4 hours, not a long time to go without a drink. If Air Greed suddenly find their sales plummeting, they may just have a rethink about their pricing policy.
admin answers:
I find that everything associated with air travel in general is expensive these days. The airlines have become so greedy and they add on ridiculous charges for everything. Some airlines even charge for pillows now. Unfortunately flying just isn’t fun anymore, unless it’s first class in Emirates.

William asks…
Does this mean GM is doing the right thing for the business and workers?
Is this a good start for GM?
GM Ceasing Corporate Aviation Operations
Earlier this week, GM announced that it is ceasing operations at General Motors Air Transportation Services (GMATS) at Detroit Metro Airport. Due to significant cutbacks over the past months, GM travel volume no longer justifies a dedicated corporate aircraft operation. GM is exploring options for transferring its aircraft to another operator. The company is pursuing the sale of four of the aircraft so it can terminate the leases. GM will shutter the facility at Metro Airport effective January 1, 2009. GM will work with the airport to seek a tenant for the balance of the lease, which expires in 2009.
Domestic Brands Score Highest in Consumer Ratings
According to Biz360, a media and market solutions provider, consumers are expressing more positive comments toward American brands than for Japanese automakers.
Basically, the company gathered roughly 300,000 online opinions about midsize cars from Ford, Chevrolet, Honda and Toyota. The data was pulled from such sites such as Auto Mall USA, Edmunds.com, IntelliChoice.com and Yahoo Autos from October 31, 2007 through November 1, 2008. The company discovered that Ford and Chevrolet are ahead of their Japanese counterparts when it comes to consumer perception.
admin answers:
Being that GM is a Global Business I think this is a a BAD idea and will end up costing the company more in the long run
Other then that I have always been happy with my American purchased cars and the fact that they are of poorly quality is just a misconception
Anyways I don’t really favor a government bail out but at this point in our economic crisis I really don’t see it could go any other way
I love how Franks can sit up on his high horse and criticized the auto industry but when the banks which HE screwed up with the Freddie and Fannie markets they opened up with open arms to them
